In October 1959, thirty-five Catholics gathered for Mass at the American Legion Hall in Newton County. St. Augustine became a full parish in September 1977, with parish territory including Morgan and Newton counties and the town of Social Circle.
Today, that family of faith continues to grow through English and Spanish parish life, formation across generations, sacramental preparation, prayer, outreach, and service.
