OCIA is the process through which adults and older children are welcomed into the Catholic Church. It serves people who:
- Have never been baptized and seek to become Catholic.
- Were baptized in another Christian tradition and wish to enter full communion with the Catholic Church.
- Were baptized Catholic but have not received Eucharist or Confirmation.
The journey unfolds over several months through prayer, catechesis, and fellowship. Participants encounter Christ and deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith alongside sponsors and the parish community until they are ready to receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil or another appropriate liturgy.
